Maarten van Oostrom — Haarlem, NL

I translate between technology and the people who depend on it.

Ten years at the seam between business and IT: mobility platforms, leasing ERP, ISO 27001.

Turning the intent behind a transformation into platforms and integrations that run.

About

I'm an economist by training and a “translator” by trade. Not between languages, but between the systems a business runs on and the people who have to justify paying for them.

That started with an MSc in Industrial Organization at the University of Amsterdam and got practical over ten years at Mobility Concept, where I helped 5,000-person workforces change how they commute, took an information-security program all the way to ISO 27001, and learned that a Tier-1 airport and a Big Four firm ask very different questions.

These days I'm at Volkswagen Pon Financial Services, deep in the integrations that make enterprise mobility actually run. Haarlem is home.

MaaS beyond the lease car

Large organizations wanted to move beyond the one-employee-one-lease-car default — without losing control of cost or compliance. I led functional design and rollout of Mobility-as-a-Service platforms and policies: vision, requirements, integrations with HR and finance systems, supplier onboarding, adoption.

Result Enterprise contracts owned end-to-end

B2B sales & deal orchestration

Complex enterprise deals from first conversation to signed contract — with C-suite, procurement and works council all on board. Discovery to frame the problem, solution engineering with Product and IT to answer it, then the business case that carried it through.

Mobility scale-up — in-house03 / 05

Result addressable deal size, once information security was certified

ISO 27001, from zero

Tier-1 clients demanded certified information security and there was no ISMS to point at. I built the management system from scratch — policies, risk process, controls, audit trail — and took it through certification myself.

Making CO2 count

Mobility decisions their boards could defend: financially, and on sustainability reporting. I built value models translating mobility scenarios into OPEX impact, CO2 reduction, and CSRD-ready reporting lines.

Result Now — mapping the integration landscape behind enterprise lease products

The quiet migration

Enterprise lease and mobility products run on systems that need to talk to each other effectively. I analyze and specify the integrations connecting them: data flows, interfaces, edge cases. Ongoing — ask me in a year for the numbers.
